On Friday 1st March, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) approved the expulsion of Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa.
Last month, Senate Majority leader and Elgeyo Markwet senator Kipchumba Murkomem had petition ODM over the plan to expel the vocal female politician from the party over her stand to publicly declare support for Deputy President William Ruto come 2022.
In a video shared by the Senate Majority leader on Twitter, he claimed Jumwa has suffered because she comes from a marginalized region and because of ODM dictatorship. He bashed the party over hypocrisy.
"They are oppressing persons from marginalized areas, they get people from their area, they can say whatever they want to do, hypocrisy, they can relate with anyone from this country," the senator said.
"When you get someone from a marginalized area say coast, it is quick to use political machines to expel them, because they don't have a chance to make a decision they want to have, " he added.
The senator further bashed ODM party for claiming to be championing democracy when what they do is dictatorship adding they will not watch their colleague being tortured.
In the video, the senator captioned that ODM leadership wants its members to worship them and Legislator Aisha Jumwa is a victim of political extremism and banditry.
"Hon. Aisha Jumwa is a victim of political extremism&banditry. Even in the days of Baba na Mama the President never demanded to be worshipped in the manner that the ODM dictator is demanding of party members. Thank God for our judicial order because Hon. Aisha is going nowhere," reads a tweet by senator Murkomen .
