A petition filed at the Senate could turn ugly after activist Reuben Kibegwa fired back on Sunday, arguing that he lodged the complaints after thorough research
On Thursday last week, temporary speaker Margaret Kamar admitted a petition by Mr Kibegwa alias Mageuzi, arguing that the it was justifiable.
In a phone interview, Mageuzi maintained that he has been receiving strange calls since Thursday, a move that has literally scared him.
"I am living in fears. I don't know what tomorrow would be. I have been receiving strange calls since Wednesday and I think all is not good," he said.
But the youthful activist maintains that no amount of intimidation will make him bow out, adding that he's keen to seek justice for the people of Nyamira.
"I complained because of my people. They must get justice and nothing else. We shall ensure Senate does the right thing," he said.
Among others, the activist accuses Governor John Nyagarama of nepotism, irregular recruitment of staff and failure to adhere to Public Procurement and Disposal Act.
Last week however, the county government of Nyamira announced that all 1,000 people affected in the payroll purge, would know their fate on Monday (today).
"This is to inform all those with interdictions and show cause letters to report to respective Sub County offices to get final communication," read a letter from Public Service Management minister Bernard Osumo.
Despite the allegations levelled against him, Governor John Nyagarama maintains that he's committed to clean the payroll. The audit committee is now set to crack a whip on those who are claimed to have been irregularly promoted.
