Obado who is an ODM-elected is facing murder charges, after being implicated in the killing of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno three weeks ago.

Speaking on Citizen TV’s Day-Break show on Friday morning, Atandi who is also allied to ODM noted that the party has nothing to do with Obado’s predicaments.

He added that the party remains neutral on the issue, and stands for justice for both sides; for Obado and the family of the slain beauty.

‘’There has been a conversation on the ground that ODM is responsible for the predicament facing the governor. So ODM is saying that you should not drag our name into these issues. The governor is innocent until proven guilty. ODM wants justice for everybody,’’ said the vocal legislator.

The party and the now embattled Migori County boss have been embroiled in a row lately after the Obado openly opposed ODM’s direct nomination of former Cabinet Minister Ochilo Ayacko to represent it in the approaching October 8 Migori Senatorial by-election.

Terming the move as undemocratic and dictatorial, the governor who initially supported former Rongo MP Dalmas Otieno for the seat, shifted his backing to Ayacko’s rival Eddy Oketch after Otieno's nomination for a state slot.

He is currently considered a rebel member of the party courtesy of his opposition of the party’s dictates.
