The confession of a man from Nakuru who has been killing cats for 'mutura' has left many in deep shock.
The man, who identified himself as James Mukangi, confessed to being the one who supplies meat in town to people who make samosas.
Residents of the area have been left shocked by the incident. A good number of them do not know what is likely to happen if you eat 'mutura' made from cat meat.
Studies have revealed that meat from cat meat is risky. Most cats are infected with toxoplasmosis and other contagious diseases.
These diseases can find their ways into our bodies if the meat is not cooked properly. This, however, does not mean one should cook cats because it is considered to be against their rights.
According to psychologist Jonathan Haidt, it is important to evaluate the ethics of every situation. In other words, he discourages individuals from committing acts deemed as unethical.
The selling of 'mutura' in different parts of the nation has seen traders resort to unethical practices.
Some of them have even decided to prepare 'mutura' from donkey meat. The hygiene of the bases where Mutura is sold also leaves less to be admired about them. Eating cat meat puts you at risk of contracting different diseases.
