An 85-year-old man was on Sunday evening found dead at Kikunywani village in Kathiani sub-county, Machakos County.
The elderly man had committed suicide by hanging himself.
His body was found dangling from the roof of his house by neighbours.
The incident was confirmed by Lita Assistant chief Samuel Nzali who told journalists that the man was living with his children after his wife died.
"He was a widow he has kids who have been helping him in his coffee plantation," said Nzali.
The chief noted that the elderly man was fond of threatening neighbours with bows and arrows whenever they had a misunderstanding.
It is reported that the man also had an ongoing case where he was accused of injuring a resident with an arrow and was supposed to record a statement.
"He had many cases and was always arguing with neighbours. It seems age was catching up with him faster than he thought. He became bitter and violent until today when he was found dead," said Nzali.
His body was moved to the Kathiani Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending burial arrangements.
