Garissa Township MP Aden Duale claims that the alleged 'humiliation' that Deputy President William Ruto received at the Bomas of Kenya during the launch of the Building Bridges Initiative made him more popular.
Duale pointed out that DP Ruto was the biggest beneficiary of the launch of BBI at the Bomas of Kenya where he seemed to be uneasy from his body language.
According to Duale who doubles up as the Majority Leader in Parliament, DP Ruto was tactful with the 'victims card', therefore, got more political attention.
"The Deputy President walked out of that Bomas more popular. He ran away with the victim card. He ran away with the card of humiliation. He walked out. He gave one of the best speeches. So ask me, who was the biggest beneficiary of Bomas?," Duale told Citizen TV in an interview Monday.
"And that is why William Ruto today is not even a front runner, he is the only runner," Duale added.
Ruto has been on the spot over his stand on the BBI report.
At first, he appeared to oppose the report then made a U-turn and declared total support.
He recently added a condition to his support of the document citing that he will only advocate for it if Kenyans agree to its contents.
