Flamboyant city lawyer Donald Kipkorir has taken a swipe at Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu over his attendance to a recent presidential function.
In a tweet on Saturday, Kipkorir argued that graft charges Waititu is facing should bar him from attending any event presided by a President.
"I don’t know who advises people like Ferdinand Waititu. When you are facing MultiMillion Corruption Case & suspended from Office, appearing in Presidential Functions is the rudest breach of protocol. No wonder Uhuru Kenyatta ended further public commemoration of his Dad!" he tweeted.
Kipkorir's sentiments come after governor Waititu joined other leaders in commemorating Mzee Jomo Kenyatta on Thursday, an event which was presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
During the event, President Kenyatta declared that the commemoration of the founding father would be a private affair in the future.
The county boss, his wife Susan Wangari and eight county staff were last month charged in relation to an Sh588 million irregular tender issued during procurement for the upgrading of various gravel roads to bitumen standard.
They were freed on cash bails and Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi ordered that Waititu and the other county staff arraigned should not access their respective offices until the case is concluded.
