Renowned lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi on Saturday took head-on Prof Peter Kagwanja over his PhD, in one of the worst academia confrontation.
Prof Kagwanja, a strategic and security expert, had attacked Kenya's intellectuals over PhD programs in an easier tweet that caused anxiety.
In the tweet, Kagwanja accused local PhD holders, blaming them for the ongoing standoff over locally awarded PhDs especially in Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
"Kenya’s real, and existential, problem are locally microwaved Ph.D holders posing as intellectual gatekeepers, but are unthinking imbeciles," he wrote.
Recently, Commission for University Education recalled 119 PhDs awarded by the Juja based university, raising questions about the quality.
But in a rejoinder, Ahmednasir Abdullahi dismissed Kagwanja as an intellectual dwarf who should avoid poking holes into local education.
"You are a trained teacher B. Education (I think CRE and history) and M.A from Kenyatta University and PhD from University of Illinois...and you are abusing Kenyans who went to better local Universities than You?...Prof what is cooking/boiling in that BIG head of yours?@makaumutua," he wrote.
Prof Kagwanja is husband to Foreign Affairs minister Dr Monica Juma and is believed to be one of State House advisor. He comments on security issues.
