Wajir woman representative Fatuma Gedi has called for the removal of parliamentary leaders undermining President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking on Saturday during the Bukhungu Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) on Saturday, the outspoken legislator appealed to the head of state to swing to action to ensure that leaders fighting him and his agenda are ousted from leadership positions in Parliament.
She claimed that there appeared to be two governments in one.
''I want to tell our beloved president that we cannot have two governments in one. The government is one: the government of Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta... On the other side we have people in leadership positions in the House moving around in big cars. Don't you want them removed? (Nataka kumwambia rais wetu mpendwa, Uhuru Kenyatta; hatuwezi kuwa na serikali mbili, serikali ni moja... Na upande hii hao ndio wanatembea na magari wako House leadership. Si mnataka watolewe), '' the Wajir lawmaker said. (0:56-1:34)
The leader of the Majority in the Senate Kipchumba Murkomen and the leader of the majority in the National Assembly have been accused by a section of parliamentarians of undermining the head of state.
The leaders bearing those top positions in both houses of parliament are seen strong allies of the deputy president Dr William Ruto.
