National Assembly Speaker Justine Muturi on Wednesday led a delegation of MPs to Ken Okoth's home in Nairobi to pay their last respects.

The 41-year-old MP succumbed to colon cancer last week on Friday, becoming the fourth lawmaker in the 12th parliament to have his life claimed by cancer.

Grace Kipchoim (Baringo South), Ben Oluoch (Migori) and Francis Nyenze of Kitui West, all succumbed to cancer.

Notable in Wednesday's delegation were Majority Leader Aden Duale, Minority Leader John Mbadi and Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja.

After Wednesday's Starehe Boys function, Okoth's remains shall be taken to Moi Girls Kibra on Thursday. On Saturday, he will be flown to Kabondo Kasipul where his mother was born.

ODM leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday said that Ken Okoth's remains shall be cremated at a private function in Nairobi which will be limited to family and friends.

“Ken will be given to the family to do the rest, just like we did with Kenneth Matiba. So the family will do the rest,” said Raila.
