A 34-year-old man, a father of two has gone into hiding after he defiled a 5-year-old girl.
This happened on Tuesday evening at Gesure in Nyamira County.
Simon Magero lured the minor into his house and defiled her before he fled.
“Magero was left home with his 2 kids with the neighbor’s 5-year-old minor.
"He lured the minor into his bedroom after he abandoned his two kids at the sitting room. He undressed the minor, raped her several times before he was caught by the neighbor who came to pick her daughter,” said Moses Keroro.
Keroro said the man escaped through the window abandoning the minor in bed where residents found her bleeding.
Area chief, Charles Kenyenya said the suspect fled after an alarm was raised.
“The rate at which men are raping minors is on the rise in the area. I am calling on parents to stop leaving young girls with men who will turn against them,” he said.
He said the man who is believed to have gone into hiding to Trans Mara will be arrested for prosecution.
