The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Secretary General David Ngugi said they have put in place measures to ensure fairness during the games.

Ngugi asked the schools participating to ensure that only genuine students take part in school games and to also ensure they are of the right age.

Ngugi urged the school heads and teams to ensure fairness as the games are meant to train and mentor young talent.

“We are very serious with this issue which seems to be returning despite the tough rules and other measures we put in place.

"Those who will be caught will face full consequences and schools should note that apart from winning, these games are meant to nurture talents so mentality of winning through hook or crook should end,” he warned as quoted by citizentv.co.ke.

In June this year, four schools were caught cheating and they were disqualified from the national games while others were banned from the games.

Schools that were caught cheating include Kibabii of Bungoma, Kwale Girls, Mutewa Boys of Meru and St Peters Mumias from Kakamega who were stripped of their Western region Under-19 football title.
