For the second time within a month, Governor John Nyagarama opted to skip Deputy President William Ruto's function as 2022 realignments continues to take shape.
In late May, Nyagarama extended his stay in Nairobi when Dr Ruto visited Nyamira. The DP commissioned West Mugirango NG-CDF offices before participating in two fundraisers.
Dr Ruto is set to oversee another fundraiser at Ekerenyo in North Mugirango on Monday. At the ground, several county leaders could not be traced.
But Nyagarama opted to travel to the neighbouring Kisii where he's currently discussing water shortage between the two counties.
"H. E Nyagarama has arrived in Kisii. He was received by Governor James Ongwae. The two shall discuss water shortage in the two counties," a statement from Nyagarama's communication team read.
The ODM governor has been spearheading calls to have Dr Fred Matiang'i run for presidency. Last week, he said Matiang'i will get overwhelming support from Abagusii.
Dr Matiang'i has pitched tent in Kisii and Nyamira Counties for the last two weeks. Over the weekend, he was in Nyabonge in Kisii County.
"As a community, we are ready to negotiate with other teams. Dr Matiang'i is fit to lead us and we are ready to run for presidency as a community," Nyagarama said a week ago when Matiang'i visited.
