President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again said that nothing will come in between him and realizing his initial vow to Kenyans to wipe out corruption.
Speaking on Saturday, the head of state insisted that his reignited war on corruption will hold, noting that his only commitment is bettering the nation for Kenyans, which must realize.
He claimed that he has no friends, apart from Kenyans and will therefore keep hitting hard at corruption barons, regardless of their placement or closeness to him.
“We shall keep that vow because I personally have no friends other than the people of Kenya,” he said in Gatanga in Muranga county, during the burial of musician John De Mathew.
He added that similarly, he does not care who the purge victimizes, in the political field apparently, noting that he is nolonger after votes and has nothing to lose.
This comes amid foul cries from allies of his deputy William Ruto, who have been claiming that the war is targeting him, hence the arrests and prosecution of people close to him.
“I am also not seeking re-election and don’t care who is caught in the mix,” added the president, in an event that was also attended by the DP.
