Nairobi men just like many others have confessed to liking and desiring dating older women compared to younger ladies.
It is evident that these men are rushing to date and marry older women and leaving young attractive women depressed.
The same also applies to women who are hooking up with older men and leave young and handsome men questioning what could be possibly wrong with them.
Pamela Sigi, a relationship counselor at a local university in Nairobi says that it is not wrong for men or women to get hooked up to older people.
Here are 5 reasons why Nairobi young men go for older women:
1. Older women are independent
Nairobi men love independent women who can take care of themselves. These men say that older women do not rely on them for everything the way younger women allegedly do.
"It is easier to deal with an older woman when it comes to issue like finances because she understands and can help you foot the bills,"Simon Ombesa, a Nairobi resident says.
Ombesa claims that younger women are too demanding.
“A man needs a woman who will take care of the bills if he is not in a position, a woman who understands him when the money is not there," Alex Okwemba, a city resident adds.
2. Older women have experience
Nairobi men believe that older women have experience on matters love, relationships, finances and know how to handle them when things go the wrong way compared to younger women.
3. Older women are mature
Nairobi men claim that they date and marry older women because they know how to handle their emotions and how to take control of things.
"We feel embarrassed when associating with young ladies majority who cannot contain their emotions and mostly anger," Benson Amutavi, a city resident says.
4. Older women are patient
Nairobi men say that older women are more patient compared to the younger women. They argue that these women don't rush things and often give them time to get money and other important things.
"An older woman will support you realize your dreams and will not live you even if things go bad," Jackson Sande, a city resident adds.
5. Older women don't cheat
Nairobi men argue that they are dating and marrying older women because they don't engage in extramarital affairs.
They claim older women are contented with life and it is rare to get them with 'mpango wa kandos' as is the case with some younger women.
Sigi, notes that it is an individual's choice whether to date an older or younger person and that they should not be judged or ridiculed for their personal choices.
