Maintaining a happy relationship requires commitment from both partners. A happy marriage is a result of a happy relationship.
Here are four rules to a happy marriage.
1. Admit and ask for forgiveness when you have wronged
No human being is perfect and anybody can make a mistake at any given time. However, whenever you are the one on the wrong, admit it and ask your partner to forgive you.
2. Never bring up a past mistake when solving an issue
This is one of the worst mistakes that couples make. Mistakes of the past should remain in the past. Never bring up old mistakes whenever you argue with your partner. Ensure you settle any issues you may have with your partner to avoid bringing up old arguments.
3. Both of you should never be angry at the same time
It is normal to get angry when you have an argument with your partner. However, it is important to avoid engaging in an argument when both of you are angry. If you realise your partner is fired up during an argument, take a step back and allow them to vent out their frustrations and pass their point across.
4. Solve any issue before going to sleep
As the Bible says in Ephesians 4:26, don't let the sun go down while you are still angry. If there is an unresolved issue, ensure you solve it before going to bed.
