Nyamira County Senator Okong'o O'mogeni has raised security lights issues, accusing Governor John Nyagarama of sluggishness.

Mr O'mogeni issued one month ultimatum for Governor Nyagarama to install street lights at Bondeni and Corner-T areas in Nyamira.

The vocal senator said if street lights will be installed in the mentioned areas, residents lives will be safe. 

"Nyagarama's government is failing the people of Nyamira due to lack of street lights in Nyamira. For security to improve in Nyamira, Nyagarama need to move with speed to ensure street lights are installed in Bondeni and corner T," he said.

The ODM allied senator said if the street lights will be installed, residents will be able to continue with their business operations until late night. 

He also said lack of street lights in the county has made criminals to take advantage of the darkness to attack, rob and kill people.

Okong'o further challenged the county boss to use public funds sent from the national government wisely. 

"Nyagarama should not condone theft of public money meant for development," he added.
