Governor Korane and Hailey discussed development projects.

The two leaders promised to partner on key development projects among them health, education, security and youth empowerment.

According to Korane, the British government is one of the county's great partners.

“Paid a courtesy call to British High Commissioner to Kenya H.E@Nichailey at his Nairobi residence,” Governor Korane tweeted.

In the meeting, the British commissioner said the United Kingdom will work closely with Kenya in the war against terrorism and corruption.

Garissa has in recent years experienced deadly terror attacks.

The government has, however, heightened security in the county and the larger North Eastern region.

Governor Korane was accompanied by Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji.
