Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has joined the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) delegates meeting in Mombasa.
Raila's presence at the delegates meeting was revealed by ODM party in a tweet.
In attendance were coastal leaders including Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho who is the host of the BBI rally tomorrow.
"PL @RailaOdinga joins Coast leaders for the Coast BBI Delegates Forum at the Wild Waters. DPL @HassanAliJoho is the host #BBIInMombasa," ODM party tweeted.
The delegates meeting is aimed at bringing together stakeholders from the coastal region, who will air their views tomorrow at the historic Tononoka Grounds, where the main BBI meeting will be held.
It comes amid divisions among leaders from the coast, as a section of the region's leadership has decried an attempt to sideline it from the proceedings on Saturday.
In a tirade on Friday, Nyali Member of Parliament Mohamed Ali said there was an attempt to push through interests of some individual leaders, instead of the interests of the people of the region.
It would be interesting to see how things will play out at the venue of the main BBI rally on Saturday, given the growing divisions.
