Speaking on Sunday at his Garden Estate palatial home on the second edition of 'Punchline', which aired on K24 TV, Murathe took issue with the Deputy President's remarks in which he talked about being ready for 2022 and being ready for heaven in the same breath.

"Of course I have heard some people saying how they are preparing for 2022 the way they are preparing for the second coming of Jesus Christ. I think that's blasphemy, " the former MP charged. (26:39-26:50)

The DP has in the past hit back at his critics who are critical of his moves aimed at improving his 2022 prospects, saying that he is ready for heaven and being ready for 2022 should not be an issue.

Murathe has been a strong critic of Ruto and has accused him, on several occasions, of undermining the president by engaging in politics.

Ruto and his allies have been moving around the country in what detractors say is a violation of the president's call for politicians to focus on development and wait for the right time to do politics.

He has declared an interest in running for the top seat in the next general elections.
