Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has once again questioned Deputy President William Ruto's source of wealth citing his regular church contributions.
The ODM boss has over the last few weeks been involved in a verbal exchange with the DP over the latter's good appetite for fundraisers and charitable contributions.
In a thinly veiled shot at the DP, he on Sunday wondered how the DP has been managing to give more than some of the richest people in the nation.
"Not even philanthropists like Vimal Shah and Manu Chandaria can afford to donate such kinds of money to churches and sustain it," said Raila.
Raila who spoke in Siaya said that the Ruto is growing into a danger to the nation, claiming that he is now using 'proceeds of graft to buy church leaders'.
He said that the politicians, including the 'hustler', have been lobbying for invitations at fundraisers to launder their illegal money and using harambees as a money-laundering scheme.
The 'hustler' nickname is a narrative the DP has since adopted in appreciation to his alleged poor background and upbringing.
“Some politicians are now bribing church officials to invite them for fundraisers at which they donate more than what they earn. The money is to corrupt society and buy support from people," Raila contended.
Raila also noted that the nation is losing Sh800 billion to graft yearly, terming taming it as one of the premises that he handshake was built on.
