The University of Eldoret (UOE), being the flame of knowledge and technical innovation, is committed to a continuous improvement process that is aimed at matching the institution with the best universities worldwide.
This is according to the university’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Teresa Akenga.
Speaking during the celebration and launch of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System on Wednesday, the VC said the institution is dedicated to moving to the greater heights through the implementation of varies policies and ideas.
Prof. Akenga stated that one of the ways that the institution is going to improve is through setting an endowment fund for the needy students.
“One way we are going to improve is to set an endowment fund. A fund that will help those students that are needy to get tuition fees to get help in order to complete their studies,” said the VC.
She also asked the university’s alumni, staffs and workers to support the move by contributing towards the endowment funds just like in other universities abroad.
“We have benchmarked with universities abroad, it is the alumni, the staffs [and] the workers of the universities that contribute towards the endowment funds to make sure that the university supports the needy students,” insisted Prof. Akenga.
Since the government has given the idea a go ahead, the launching of this motherly idea will be held in June and the Vice-chancellor pleaded with everyone to participate in giving back to the community.
