The office of the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has taken an action after a video of a group of men beating a tied up man surfaced online.
In the video, the men are seen attacking and beating up the man in Sajiloni area of Dalalekutuk ward in Kajiado Central.
The four men are seen beating the man in different parts of the body leaving him to death. The man pleads for mercy but the unidentified men could not stop. It remains unclear why the men were beating him up.
The video elicited mixed reactions from different quarters before the DCI took action. The detectives have confirmed that they arrested one Joseph Pasile Mulata, who is believed to be part of the gang.
“65-year-old Joseph Pasile Mulata was Today arrested by @DCI_Kenya Detectives following a viral video of a man being ruthlessly whipped by a group of about FOUR men within Sajiloni area of Dalalekutuk ward in #Kajiado Central. THREE known suspects are being pursued by Detectives,” tweeted the office of the DCI,” revealed DCI.
The DCI also appealed to the victim to present himself at the headquarters as they embark on the search for the men.
"DCI Detectives investigating the case are appealing to the VICTIM to come forward and help them in the investigations. Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspects are close family members of the victim.Further enquiries are ongoing to bring all those involved to Justice," DCI added.
The incident comes at a time when the office of the DCI and DPP have reached to the FBI to curb corruption and terror related activities in the country.
