Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has condemned the ongoing xenophobic attack against foreigners in South Africa.
On Wednesday, Barasa said the attacks should be condemned in the strongest terms possible.
“The xenophobic attacks against other nationalities in the Republic of South Africa (RSA) should be exorcised in the strongest terms possible. Unfortunately, the vice is now affecting even our fellow Kenyans, we won't swallow this bitter pill as the government of RSA is watching,” he said.
Barasa reiterated apartheid rule should not be allowed in the 21st century.
“Traces of the apartheid regime in South Africa should be done away with especially when the world is making tremendous steps towards respect for Human Rights and dignity. We must respect the UN charter that has been our shield towards the promotion of world peace and security,” the Kimilili MP added.
Kenyans are among victims of arson, looting and physical attacks in the ongoing xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
Kenyan High Commissioner to South Africa Jean Kamau on Wednesday confirmed the ongoing xenophobic attack in South where the residents want foreigners out claiming that they have taken their jobs.
