Uhuru was in the country to grace the 57th Independence Day. It remains unclear what Uhuru discussed with the widow of the music legend.

During his tour in Jamaica, Uhuru said that Kenya shares cordial ties with the nation. He highlighted that he has several close relatives in Jamaica include his wife’s brother’s mother.

“The Prime Minister was telling me that Jamaican Diaspora is everywhere and almost every country on this earth so he was wondering if there is a Jamaican diaspora in Kenya and I told him that yes I can confirm given the fact that wife’s brother’s mother comes from Jamaica and she lives in Kenya and she has lived there all her life,” he said in part.

Uhuru who is completing his second and final term in office has promised to continue working with Jamaica to ensure the countries realise their economic goals.

Uhuru held talks with Prime Minister Andrew Holness during the visit where they affirmed to remain united.
