The incident was confirmed by Yatta sub-county deputy police commander George Kashimiri who said the victim was not identified immediately.
Kashimiri told journalists that the victim had wounds on his head, adding that it's possible the man was killed somewhere else, and his body dumped at the scene by unknown people.
"He could have been hit by a vehicle somewhere else then his body dumped at the scene. There was no blood around the scene," he said.
Kashimiri further noted that investigations have began to unravel the mystery surrounding the incident, adding that no one has been arrested so far.
He asked residents who may have information concerning the incident to report to the nearest police station.
"Anyone who may have information that may help with investigations should tell us so that we can know what to do about this incident" he said.
The body was moved to Matuu Mediance mortuary awaiting post morteum.
