Her declaration contradicts President Uhuru Kenyatta's recent call for such groups to be disbanded in his quest to build a united country.

While speaking during the launch of Building Bridges Initiative taskforce report at the Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday, Uhuru said that such groupings continue to polarize the country which embarks on a journey to unity through BBI.

However, according to Gure, the group which has long been seen to be allied to Deputy President William Ruto, is not political and that it is meant to serve the interests of women throughout the country through empowerment.

" Inua Mama is an apolitical movement that brought under one roof women leaders with a vision to assist each other in empowering their people. We are not going to disband it any time soon as long as we serve Wanjiku and Halima," said Gure in part in a post on her Facebook page.

This comes with similar sentiments drawn by Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris.

Separately, USA-based legal scholar Prof. Makau Mutua, had asked President Kenyatta to disband all political groupings allied to politicians if BBI report is to achieve its intended purpose of uniting Kenyans.
