It will be a long night for embattled Migori Governor Okoth Obado after the court on Monday remanded him at the Industrial Area remand prison.
Obado was arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts where he appeared before Judge Jessie Lessit to answer to charges of murdering Sharon Otieno.
Obado pleaded not guilty. Judge Lessit remanded him pending determination of his bail application on Tuesday at 2 pm.
He was arrested on Friday and locked up at Gigiri Police Station after DNA samples collected from him proved he was the father of Sharon’s unborn child.
Sharon was abducted in Migori three weeks ago before being brutally murdered and her body dumped at Kodera forest in Oyugis, Homa Bay County where it was discovered two days later.

Reports from sources within DCI indicate that the Migori county boss was at the scene of the crime.
