North Horr Member of Parliament Chachu Ganya has been arrested in relation to the ongoing tribal clashes in Marsabit County.
This follows an earlier arrest of his Saku counterpart Ali Rasso who was nabbed early Monday morning.
On Wednesday, the county Governor Mahmoud Mohammed and the two were grilled by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives in Embu.
According to Eastern region DCI boss John Gachomo, the trio was summoned after being named in the bloody clashes which have claimed 14 lives as of now, reports the Citizen Digital.
They would, however, rubbish the probe, accusing law enforcers of failing to carry out their job accurately, hence the violence.
The fighting which erupted in September has since been linked to the 2022 political debate, with residents accusing politicians of propagating the same for political elevation.
Others have termed the continuation of the same despite area leaders' interventions, a result of retaliatory attacks among the warring sides, discouraging a possible ceasefire.
Consequently, hundreds of people have since fled their homes in a bid to escape the encounter, at a time when a contingent of police officers has been deployed in the area to maintain peace and order.
