Only those who managed to score at least 350 marks in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) will be eligible for the interviews.

The interviews were announced in a tweet on Saturday by the recently elected area member of parliament Imran Bernard Okoth who urged needy students in the constituency to go for the interviews, which were slated to come to an end at 2 p.m.

Successful students will be eligible to receive funding for their studies under the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) program.

"Kibra NG-CDF 2020 Scholarship interview for Form Ones is currently ongoing at the Kibra CDF Office located at DC's Compound. The process will go on until 2 pm, please share the word with any needy kids who managed to get 350 Marks & Above, " Kibra MP Imran Okoth announced on his Twitter handle.

During his run for office, Bernard Okoth promised to make access to education a major part of his agenda.

Kibra constituency is located in an informal settlement and scores of families from the area are poor and not in a position to pay for education.
