Speaking during an induction training for newly recruited staff on Tuesday in Nairobi, Haji said he is engaging with relevant agencies to ensure his staff is well paid.

He said that there is currently a high turnover rate at his office.

The DPP further said that some of the new staff fear being posted to areas like Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, and others for security fears and also poor remuneration.

“I am personally engaging the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) to ensure we have a good remuneration to retain staff,” he said.

Haji said that the security of his staff in areas like Garissa and other parts of the country will be beefed up.

He said that he is focused to fight corruption and organised crime.

Last week, Garissa Township MP Aden Duale said that Haji’s office was not affected in the budgetary cuts.

Duale said that the national government will allocate the DPP more resources to enable him to fight graft.

Haji who hails from Garissa has received praise from local leaders over his war on graft.

The DPP says he is fearless in the war against graft and organised crime.
