Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali has vowed to fight Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.
Speaking on Thursday, January 24, when he accompanied Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa after being summoned by ODM National Executive Council (NEC) for questioning, Ali alleged that Joho was behind Jumwa and Suleiman Dori’s (Msambweni lawmaker) troubles.
“These fights are not about the party but about Mombasa politics. We have declared war and we will bring it to Mombasa. The fight is by a person who doesn’t want other leaders to grow,” Ali said.
Ali and Joho parted ways after the former journalist lost ODM nominations in 2017. He blamed Joho for his lose.
Jumwa echoed Ali’s stand against Joho by stating that there wre few persons who were out to mislead ODM. Besides asking for forgiveness for any misconduct, she demanded a fair hearing.
“We will not allow a few individuals to mislead the party. There was no disciplinary committee but an individual. It is therefore not true that we appeared before a committee,” she told journalists after appearing before the NEC chaired by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
Other MPs who accompanied Jumwa and Dori were Kaloleni’s Paul Katana, Kilifi North’s Owen Baya. Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip was also present.
