Former Nyeri Woman Representative Priscilla Nyokabi has slammed Turkana governor Josphat Nanok for engaging in politics at the wrong time instead of serving his people.
Speaking in a live Citizen TV interview on Tuesday, Nyokabi argued that Turkana county, presently, has a myriad of problems which needed attention without further delay.
The former legislator opined that the governor should not waste time in counterproductive endeavours such as useless politics at the expense of the plight of poor citizens.
"Governor Nanok ought to be concentrating on Turkana problems right now and not politics," Nyokabi said as quoted by Citizen TV.
She, however, called on leaders to have the people's interests at heart like what Nanok is doing by declaring support for Deputy President William Ruto's development initiatives, which would benefit his county residents.
Despite praising Nanok's intention for the move he took, Nyokabi warned that the timing was, nevertheless, wrong.
"We are hoping that the leaders have public good as he (Nanok) says if he goes to DPs side then it is because of development but for me, the regret is the season," she noted.
DP Ruto concluded a three-day tour of Turkana county on Monday where he had commissioned several projects including the construction of a Teachers' Training College, roads and a bridge, besides meeting the people.
Turkana leaders including governor Nanok accompanied the DP as he visited various parts of the county.
