Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has broken silence after ODM Governor won the Chairperson seat of the Council of Governors.
Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Ambesta Oparanya was elected as the new Chairperson of the Council of Governors after beating five other contestants.
"Congratulations to Governor Wycliffe Ambesta Oparanya for being Elected as the new Chairperson of the Council of Governors," said Maangi.
The Deputy Governor also sent a message of congratulatory to his boss Governor James Ongwae who was re-elected as the Chairperson of the Committee on Human Resource, Labor and Social Welfare.
Oparanya who is serving his second and last term as governor took over from Turkana County Josephat Nanok who has been serving as the COG since May 2017.
Among the governors, Oparanya beat include; Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o, Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru who has been serving as the vice chairperson, Uasin Gishu County's Jackson Mandago and Salim Mvurya of Kwale County.
Oparanya's win was attributed to his good track record since he took office as Kakamega senator in 2013.
He will be deputized by Murang'a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria.
