The vocal Gatundu South legislator, Moses Kuria has criticized leaders that he opined were taking Kenyans for granted. Leaders he labelled corrupt leaders have also tasted the wrath of his tongue.
Recently, he pointed fingers at Siaya Senator James Orengo and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga over their involvement in Kenya Ports Authority saga.
The legislator took to Facebook to condemn Senator Orengo. He said that he failed to understand whether Orengo represented KPA Managing Director Daniel Manduku who allegedly misappropriated Sh2.7 billion or he was standing in for Raila Odinga who allegedly benefited from some tenders.
"Dear SC Senator James Aggrey Bob Orengo. Exactly who is your real client at the Kenya Ports Authority? I don't believe in the conflict of interest theory. But I suspect Daniel Manduku is not your real client. Could it be that your real client is Rt Hon Raila Odinga and his family? Tell us the truth, Jimmy. Nothing wrong with representing a client," he posted.
Kuria's allegations were made after Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji through Senior Assistant DPP Alexander Muteti filed a case in court wanting to prevent Orengo from representing Mr Manduku on grounds that Orengo is a legislator and should not represent anyone in court.
On the other hand, Senator Orengo claimed that there was a constitutional procedure to settle the conflict of interest and DPP Haji needs to file an application that will deal with the matter effectively.
“Standing Orders take into consideration the provisions of the constitution. As it is, there is no complaint made to the Parliamentary Service Commission or the speaker that they have breached provisions of the constitution,” Orengo argued in court.
