Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale has celebrated Jubilee Party's triumph in the Wajir West by-election.
Jubilee candidate Ahmed Kolosh was declared the winner after he garnered 11,053 votes against his rival Kanu's Ibrahim Sheikh who managed 6,532 votes.
Abdi Noor had 6 votes, Yusuf Elmi, 11 votes and Abbas Nunow garnered 4 votes.
In a statement on his official Facebook page, Duale said, "Wajir West voters have confirmed their confidence in the Jubilee Party and its leadership led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto."
"Wajir West constituency has been the hotbed of opposition politics and it confirms that Jubilee Party has secured a foothold since we did not field a candidate in the 2017 general election," he added.
The National Assembly Leader of Majority also wished Kolosh success as he embarks on delivering his constitutional mandate to the people.
He said President Kenyatta's government will deliver on its social contract with the people of Wajir West, North Eastern and Kenya at large.
Kolosh had been taunted as the favourite to clinch the by-election after his 2017 election victory was nullified by the Supreme Court over irregularities.
He ditched ODM to join Jubilee Party after his election was nullified.
