Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa's political troubles are far from over after her former party, Orange Democratic Movement, indicated its plans to remove her from the powerful Parliamentary Service Commision position.
A loyal follower of the Deputy President William Ruto, Jumwa irked the party that sponsored her Parliament, by openly campaigning for the country's number two ahead of the 2022 general election.
And in response, the Raila Odinga-led party initiated process to kick her out.
Consequently, her fate as sealed when the party's National Executive Committee adopted eport by the outfit's Disciplinary tribunal recommending for her expulsion.
The vocal lawmaker could later survive after the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal halted her expulsion terming the process unlawful.
However, after some temporary reprieve, ODM is back at it again, now determined to remove her from PSC.
“It is very clear that Hon Aisha is not in line with the policies and aspirations of the party that nominated her to the PSC,” National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohamed was quoted by Sunday Nation as saying even as indicated that he will restart the process for Jumwa's removal.
Parliamentary Service Commision, which takes care of the welfare of the Members of Parliament, is one of the most powerful commissions in the country.
Should Jumwa lose her position, then she would have been dealt a major political blow which may end up shaping her political trajectory ahead of 2022 election.
