Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna has hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto after NASA leader Raila Odinga withdrew from the repeat presidential polls.
In a tweet published by the former aide to Raila on Tuesday, Miguna remarked that Jubilee's top leadership had been caught off guard by the Opposition's move to withdraw from the elections.
“Both President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto are caught pants down with Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka’s withdrawal - INTELLECTUALLY OUTGUNNED,” he stated.
Following NASA's decision to pull out of the polls, a section ofJubilee Party lawmakers are now calling for the swearing in of President Uhuru Kenyatta as the duly elected head of state.
However, reacting to the Opposition's move, President Kenyatta asserted that it was Raila's constitutional right to choose not to participate in the elections.
He further added that he, on his part is ready for the rerun.
