Members of the Machakos county assembly allied to Maendeleo Chap Chap Party have come out clearly in defense of their party leader Governor Alfred Mutua over his ongoing countrywide 2022 presidential campaigns.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, the Kangundo West MCA, Kaloki Ikusya, said the governor is not using public resources to conduct his presidential campaigns.
They said Mutua's political campaigns are supported by well-wishers.
Ikusya said as Maendeleo Chap Chap MCAs, they fully support the governor's bid.
They urged all other Ukambani leaders, who once tried to compete for the presidential seat, to rally behind Mutua and support him arguing that he is the only person who is capable.
“Mutua has a national outlook and thus can unite the nation so we have sent him out to go and look for likeminded persons and join hands with them so that come 2022 he will have a strong alliance to move Kenya to the next level from middle class to first class economy,” Ikusya said.
“It’s ok if Deputy President William Ruto goes on campaigning but for governor Mutua, there are questions on his spending,” he added
In his speech, Ikusya said Mutua has a fast-tracking evidence on the development agenda and he is the only person to deliver Kenyans for the second liberation.
