Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has paid tribute to ODM leader Raila Odinga, acknowledging that his absence from opposition politics could lead to maladministration.
In an interview with KTN on Wednesday, Mr Kabogo said Odinga commands huge following and his decision to work with government would lead to anarchy by the state.
He acknowledged that it's only Mr Odinga who could speak on issues going badly in government and cause tensions thus leading to necessary action by government.
"The country is still divided. The man who is able to speak and control huge crowds is Raila Odinga and he is in the handshake," he said.
Mr Odinga reconciled with President Uhuru Kenyatta last year after a divisive election. The move caught most of their allies flat-footed.
Early this year, Uhuru defended his association with Raila, insisting that the veteran leader has helped the country and his administration fix important matters.
“We sit; we discuss; we agree. He (Mr Odinga) also gives me ideas that enhance something and make it even better. What is wrong with that?”
He continued: “The most important thing to us is our people and our continent. Let’s focus on ‘Africa positive’, not always ‘Africa negative’. ‘Us’ includes all of us. We need one another. We are not going to achieve anything by being small thinkers.”
