The President is on an official tour to the Caribbean nation, and is rooting for bilateral relationship following invitation of Prime Minister Andrew Michael.

Speaking at the event, Uhuru said his wife's brother's mother comes from Jamaica, although she has settled in Nairobi for the last few years.

"Prime Minister you asked whether there is a Jamaican diaspora in Kenya now that they are all over the world. I want to assure you that we have many of them," he said.

"Infact, even my wife's brother's mother is a Jamaican. She however stays in Kenya. That's how we closely relate with this country," said Uhuru.

Earlier, Uhuru also revealed the close relationship between his father Jomo Kenyatta and one of greatest Panafricanist Marcus Garvey, who hailed from Jamaica.

The president is set to visit Marcus Garvey's museum in Kingston before visiting Bob Marley's grave where he will lay a wreath in the company of Mr Andrew.

Socially, Uhuru is a fan of Reggae music and has often confessed how he loves Marley's music. Marley died in 1981 while undergoing treatment in Florida.
