Residents of Kisii County have been left wondering after the county boss Governor James Ongwae confirmed that majority of county workers don't report to their workstations daily.
Ongwae said he is aware that majority of county employees are not reporting to work during the working days, something that is affecting service delivery negatively.
"I can't continue condoning lazy workers who don't report to work daily. I am assuring Kisii residents that those workers who don't report to work will lose their jobs and have them replaced immediately," he said.
The ODM Governor insisted that his government won't continue paying lazy workers for boycotting duties.
"We can't continue releasing salaries to people who don't report to work. There are other serious people who should be given the opportunity to serve the people of Kisii County," he maintained.
The governor assured that each department in his government will be evaluated quarterly because they will be providing reports on funds expenditure as allocated to the various departments.
He challenged residents to be patient as old projects are being worked on to be completed before new ones are launched.
