In an Instagram post shared by Akothee, she rubbished claims that she had linked Sonko with the Akasha's drug business.

"Don't create enmity between people and leaders simply because you have data bundles and 2 followers , I don't even watch news nor TV if not YouTube. I dont even know who the Akashas is, who are they again, doing what business, and which business? Kenyans should style up and get news correct," the singer said in the post

The mother of five further claimed that Kenyans were trying everything to bring her down.

She was responding to reports quoting her saying that Sonko and the jailed drug barons Akashas knew each other.

After Akothee's post went viral, the flashy city boss came out to respond and cautioned those fond of creating fake news saying their days are numbered.

"This behavior of creating fake news will stop one day. (Hii tabia ya fake news lazima itakoma siku moja)," said Sonko.
