A brace each from Rabie Meftah and Zakaria Bencha were enough to seal a 4-1 win for USM Alger against Gor Mahia, Sunday.
Kenneth Muguna was the hero for the travelling team as he got a crucial away goal from the spot.
USMA enjoyed a lot of possession, and on a couple of occasions, Kogalo had David Mapigano to thank for not conceding more.
We take a look at how some of the Gor Mahia players fared during their loss to the Algerian side in the CAF Champions League qualifier.
David Mapigano 4/10
Mapigano was sharp on a couple of occasions in the first half but will be crucified for the fourth goal as he failed to clear his lines which resulted in Zakaria firing in a rebound.
Joash Onyango 3/10
Judging by the performance, Joash was a shadow of himself. The defender was all over the place and couldn’t contain USMA striker Rabie Meftah. That carried on in the second half and the 2018 KPL most valuable player had a very poor outing.
Nicholas Kipkirui 2/10
Was supposed to be the key man for Kogalo but really it was a difficult night for him as he failed to provide the cutting edge in attack. Brought off for Samwel Onyango at the start of the second half.
Kenneth Muguna 6/10
The 23-year old captain was calm and composed in a night where his teammates loosed their cool. Easily fired in from the spot to earn his team a crucial away goal.
