According to the vocal Jubilee, legislator MPs passed the Finance Bill in 2013 but, they are now lying to poor Kenyans by opposing the 16 percent tax on petroleum products.

"It is shameful that MPs are out to cheat the electorates after fuel prices hiked. Kenyans need to be told the truth. It is time MPs should come up with solutions facing Kenyans and not wiping tears in public on grounds that they are opposing the 16 percent tax on petroleum products," he said Tuesday.

The Garissa Township MP said he will not request the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi to recall the MPs to resume sittings after the lawmakers went on recess.

"I will not waste time writing to Muturi to recall MPs who are on recess because the same MPs are at the forefront lying to Kenyans instead of finding solutions to the problems facing Kenyans," he noted.

Duale said MPs were elected to serve the electorates and not crying in public opposing something they passed which has been implemented.

He was speaking during an interview with Citizen Television.
