Deputy President William Ruto has told off his critics over the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report implementation.
Speaking on Sunday at St. Christopher Catholic Parish - Kyumbi, Maanzoni, Machakos County for a church service, Ruto said that he is surprised that his critics have now made him the subject of the BBI report.
He argued that the leaders who attended the Bukhungu Stadium Rally in Kakamega used their time discussing him rather than issues affecting Kenyans.
He said that the allies of the opposition leader Raila Odinga are missing the point.
"I saw yesterday insults formed half of the meeting, there was less mention of BBI than mention of Ruto and his home in Sugoi," Ruto said.
The DP, who is considered as one of the front runners in the race for power in 2022, said that he should not be victimized for holding a different opinion on BBI.
“There is no need to hold people with a different opinion in contempt to the extent of denying them an opportunity to express themselves," the DP said.
He was accompanied by MPs Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Victor Munyaka (Machakos Town), Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu), Vincent Musyoka (Mwala) and Fabian Muli (Kangundo).
