Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to explain why his government continues to seek foreign loans when National Treasury cannot account for billions.
In a tweet, Miguna, who has been vocal on matters of national interest, asked Uhuru to tell Kenyans what he has done to recover billions claimed to be missing from the National Treasury following a report by the Henry Rotich.
He noted that time has come for the President, who is completing his second and final term in office, to pull up his socks in the war against graft before he fails as a leader.
The lawyer-cum-activist believes Uhuru is yet to do enough to change the lives of the people of Kenya.
“Uhuru Kenyatta and his thieves at the Treasury claimed a few days ago that more than Shs. 1 TRILLION of public money that had been stolen and stashed abroad had been RETURNED by un-named looters to some undisclosed accounts. Why borrow when we just got more than Shs.1 trillion?” he tweeted on Tuesday.
The former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate has been asking Kenyans to stand up against poor governance by Jubilee regime.
He opines that Jubilee has not done much to transform the economy of this nation since it took over power.
