A psychic cat that correctly predicted the outcome of six Russia 2018 World Cup games has passed away.
The cat, popularly known as "Baidian'er" was orange-furred tabby and it was based in China.
The cat had achieved a lot of fame that a Palace Museum in Beijing's Forbidden City set up an account for him on China's Weibo.
Baidian'er had correctly predicted 6 World Cup games. He even predicted a win for Argentina against Nigeria, which turned out to be his last prediction.
During its predictions, the cat uses two bowls of food, with flags of the two teams playing behind the bowls. The cat sniffs through the two bowls and eats from the one it predicted to win.
The cat fell ill and died early this week. According to the museum management, its sudden death has attracted over 10,000 comments on Weibo.
"Every time I go to the Forbidden City, I have to go see Baidian'er, take a photo, play for a while, see him sleep on the grass in the sun."
"Go on living a happy life in Cat Heaven, I'll see you again," grieved one fan on Weibo.
The sudden death of Baidian'er follows that of an octopus named Rabio in Japan that had predicted correctly three Japan matches. Unfortunately, it was sold and turned into a sashimi.
