The angry workers demonstrated along the Solai road towards Kamkunji condemning the DPP.

They said the move might cost them their salary and job.

“We are demonstrating following the move by the DPP to have our manager arrested and prosecuted. We know Patel has really helped us and we are asking the government where do they want us to go?” one of the workers said.

However, area chief Charles Kiragu calmed the workers urging them to go back to their workstations as the matter is in the hands of the government.

“I want to appeal to you that you go back to your workstations as this is an issue that is already under control of the government,” Kiragu said.

Kiragu also refuted claims by a section of victims of the Solai Dam tragedy that there was unfairness in the manner compensation was done.

He said the owner of the dam promised to ensure all the families affected by the tragedy are compensated.

“Let me be clear that the compensation is in place as the owner of the dam had promised to do so and families affected were given forms to fill,” he said.

Patel Dam owner Mansukh Kansagara and the farm's General Manager Vinoj Jaya Kumar presented themselves to the Naivasha Police Station on Thursday.

The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji on Wednesday ordered the arrest and prosecution.

Haji wants the two charged alongside other state officials, over the tragedy that left 47 people dead when the dam in Solai burst.

The two are represented by lawyer Evans Monari, who issued a statement Wednesday night saying they have been fully cooperating with authorities during investigations.

Also to face charges are top officials of the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), the Water Resources Management Authority (WRA) and Nakuru County Government.
