Speaking at the Athi Primary School grounds in Meru during the requiem mass for Peter Gichunge Linturi, the father of Meru Senator Mithika Linturi, Ruto said that things have never been the same again in Jubilee since President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila agreed to work together.

He alluded that the African Union Special Envoy is behind the endless wrangles within the ruling party ahead of 2022. He argued that the party is no longer development-oriented as it used to be since Raila decided to jump in the ship.

“There is a difference between the Jubilee you used to know and the current one. In Jubilee, we were used to the language of development where we talk about roads and other projects,” he said, as quoted by Daily Nation.

The second in command said that Raila’s camp has been rooting for a referendum which aims at causing more cracks in Jubilee. He noted that time has come for the leaders in Jubilee to be wary of the plans of the Luo political kingpin. Ruto’s 2022 plan seems scuttled since Raila and Uhuru pledged to work together.
